Terms of use

An independent guide to the story, the stage, and the questions between them. These are the terms for using it.

Prelaunch draft · Updated 11 October 2026. Before public release, complete the operator identity, activate and test feedback delivery, and set a retention policy. This is not a certification of legal compliance.

01

About this site

This independent fan project supports learning and exploration. It is not an official Les Misérables site and is not sponsored or endorsed by its creators, rights holders, productions, or featured artists. It sells no tickets, accepts no payments, and provides no separate user account. Any preview access restrictions are managed by the hosting service.

02

Different works, different rights

The guide’s original explanations, discussion prompts, and design are distinct from the underlying works. We claim no ownership of others’ music, lyrics, trademarks, recordings, or photographs. Hugo’s original French novel is public domain in many countries; that does not make modern translations, the musical, or recordings freely reusable. Fair use is assessed case by case, not granted by this notice.

03

Personal and responsible use

You may read, learn, explore, and share an achievement badge through the provided tools. These tools do not license republication or commercial exploitation of others’ works. Do not bypass access controls, compromise security, disrupt the service, or present it as official. No licence to download videos, scores, or lyrics is provided. Uses permitted by applicable law remain available.

04

Facts, interpretation, and updates

Sources and review dates accompany the content. Listening questions offer ways to explore the music and story. Versions, casts, running times, and availability can change. Check current production and accessibility details with the organiser before booking or visiting.

05

Spoilers and younger readers

You can choose when to reveal plot details, but a title, quiz, or external source may still reveal a clue. The work includes poverty, violence, death, and exploitation. Parents and carers should consider age and sensitivity. The host’s and media providers’ own age and account requirements also apply.

06

Links, videos, and sharing

YouTube players appear directly in selected content without an extra permission screen or autoplay; loading connects your browser to the provider. External links and videos remain subject to the relevant provider’s rights, terms, and policies. Embedding does not guarantee availability, captions, suitability, or endorsement. Once shared or downloaded, a copy is controlled by you and your chosen service. The site cannot recall a share, erase a downloaded file, or guarantee that others can open a private link.

07

Availability and responsibility

We aim to provide useful content and working tools, but errors, outages, changes, or lost browser progress are possible. Browser storage is not a backup. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be limited, mandatory rights, or available remedies. Continuous availability and a fixed support response time are not promised.

08

Changes and contact

Material changes will be shown with an updated date; fresh consent will be requested where needed. Continued browsing is not consent to optional tracking. No foreign governing law or exclusive court is imposed here. The Contact page is intended for rights, privacy and correction requests. Operator identity and tested feedback delivery must be completed before public release.

YOUR CHOICE

Reveal the whole story?

Enabling spoilers reveals identities, relationships, deaths and the ending on story, character and comparison pages. You can hide them again, but you cannot unread a revelation.

Remember for next time?

Browse without optional storage or analytics. Choose whether to remember preferences and progress or allow usage measurement.

What does this include?
YOUR CHOICES

Privacy, in plain sight

Your choice is remembered for 180 days. Change it at any time from the footer. Spoiler consent remains separate.

Necessary for operation · The privacy-choice record and explicit spoiler choices in this tab.

Turning remembering off stops using existing saved data. To remove it from this device too:

Erase saved data from this device?

This removes only this guide’s saved language, listening checkmarks, bookmarks, last journey and quiz round. The site cannot restore them. Privacy choices stay, and remembering turns off. It does not erase data already sent to an external provider or files you shared or downloaded.
